December 06 – Danza Floricanto Event: In the month of December, a REACT member from Los Angeles came up with a project to give back to the community in a way that is not only fun, but that it will also bring them joy of celebrating the holidays. REACT offered a free Reiyukai Creative Recycling workshop to the student dancers at the Danza Floricanto USA, a community-based dance company in East LA. With much surprise to the students, smiles of joy emerged. Parents were also present during the recycling workshop and were invited to join in on all the fun the kids were having. The kids and parents during the workshop were able to make a box out of milk cartons that could also serve as an ornament for the Christmas Tree.

December 06 – Holiday + Creative Recycling = Big Smike: December was a month of non-stop community event participation for the Reiyukai Creative Recycling (RCR) workshop representative in Honolulu! Every weekend, there was an event to celebrate the holiday where the RCR had attended having a booth to make holiday ornaments made out of recycling materials.

December 07 – Honor and Appreciation: Reiyukai America has been attending the Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration through an official invitation by the US Navy Region Hawai‘i. For the local members, it has been an annual tradition to donate a wreath at the USS Arizona Memorial to honor, respect and show appreciation for those who lost their lives during that battle.
