August Events Recap

We had such a busy month in August filled with lots of excitement!  Let’s take a look at all the events Reiyukai participated in this past month.

Aug 6th     Reiyukai had a meeting with representatives from the Filipino Community Center (the FilCom Center) and the Sariliing Gawa Youth Council to discuss the details for the next upcoming Letter to my Parents contest.

Aug 10-11     The Oriental Fusion HandcraftSM — Recycling Workshop participated in the 5th annual Tanabata Festival in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.  Filled with great food and traditional Japanese music, visitors from all over got a chance to see the beautiful crafts exhibition and a chance to win crafts classes for two people for one whole month.  Reiyukai America will continue to support community activities such as the Tanabata Festival for the improvement of society.

San Diego Obon Gathering (11)
Aug 13     Members gathered together at the new San Diego Reiyukai Center for Obon to show honor and remember all the ancestors and family members that passed away.  During reflection on this day, member recalled memories of past Reiyukai friends who are once were great teammates promoting the activities of Reiyukai.
