Reiyukai America participating at the 71st Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration

This year again the Reiyukai members living in the Honolulu area have gathered to participate in the Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration organized by the Commander of the Navy Region of Hawai‘i and the National Park Service.

Traditionally, members have been observing Pearl Harbor Day in their household to remember the victims. However since 2008, Reiyukai America has joined other organizations in donating a flower wreath which is displayed on the USS Arizona Memorial to honor and be grateful to those who lost their lives on that day.

Every year, attending the ceremony arouses mixed feelings in the members. At the same time, it becomes a moment of pledging — the pledge to continue practicing this teaching and expanding it with the hope of creating a better world.
